Thank you & see you soon!

On behalf of our PNWAER Board we would like to say thank you for another wonderful fiscal year. We have endured so much this last year but through it all your passion, curiosity and commitment have remained true. Our world is better for having you in it and we hope you take a moment to witness yourself and all that you have accomplished this past year.

We are looking forward to next year and hope you will join us once again for mixers, conferences, and more! We would like to leave you with this poem.

The Starfish Story

“One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it in the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.” “Son,” the man said, “Don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man he said. “I made a difference for that one.”

Thank you for making a difference each day. Have a wonderful summer and we will see you next year!

Sincerely,

PNWAER Board

Spring Conference Survey

On behalf of our board, I hope this email finds you well. We know that everyone has been waiting to hear about how we will be providing our spring conference this year; the 2021 conference will be hosted virtually.  We are looking forward to planning an exciting and accessible conference for all those who wish to attend. We believe that we will reach a greater audience in our state through this format while keeping the integrity of our annual conference and the safety of attendees first.

We are in the planning phase of choosing the best format to host the conference. The most difficult part is planning which times and days to host. As a board, we created a survey for attendees to submit feedback on which conference format, dates, and times work best for your schedule.

Whichever virtual format we choose, all sessions will be available to access digitally for a set amount of time after the session ends. Meaning, you will be able to attend sessions you may have missed due to a schedule conflict. We will be offering CECs for this conference as well as more opportunities to connect with professionals.
Please complete this survey by 1/5 to help us move forward in the decision-making process. Thank you and Happy Holidays.

Support and Materials Needed- Southern Oregon ESD

The Southern Oregon ESD lost their main office last night due to the on-going fires in the area. The office housed a lot of the TVIs, COMS and braillists materials serving the area.

April Love shared this with us, “The devastation in our community is widespread. We have yet to do an inventory of all that is lost but I thought I would reach out to this group of vision professionals to ask you to keep us in mind if getting rid of any vision materials.”

Any materials can be sent to the address below:
